Description
The Weeping Women sculptures that surmount many of the columns at the Palace of Fine Arts were originally created by German American sculptor Ulric Ellerhusen in 1915 to express the sadness and melancholy of life without art; they were recreated by San Francisco sculptor Spero Anargyros when the Palace was rebuilt in the 1960's.
